In the ‘culture quarter’ of Newcastle’s famous Quayside the Waterside Hotel can be found, just an eight minute walk from the city centre and its many attractions. All prices also include breakfast.

All of the rooms have their own unique style, and compares itself to a ‘boutique’ hotel, and also offers brand new plasma screen TV and DVD player. Although the Waterside doesn’t have its own restaurant, it does serve a full English or continental breakfast and there are a number of quality cafes and restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel.

Each of the hotels twenty four rooms is fully air conditioned and includes satellite television, a telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The Waterside operates a no-smoking policy throughout the building, and boasts twenty four hour reception, a laundry/valet service, and an on call doctor. Parking is free of charge, and guests can enjoy use of the attached bar Jimmyz if they don’t want to stray too far from the hotel. For visitors who want to venture further afield, there are many city centre attractions only a short distance away, such as the excellent shopping facilities, and the many museums, exhibitions and art displays. Theatre fans can indulge their love of live drama with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Theatre Royal or the Opera North.

Three star Jesmond Park hotel is a privately run business, which can be found a mile or so from the city centre, close to the metro rail that runs into Newcastle. Relatively small at eighteen rooms, Jesmond Park offers prices starting at £38 for a one person room, rising to £76 for a double with en-suite, cots are also available.

In an effort to please all guests, the hotel offers some smoking rooms and even allows pets to stay if requested. Tea and coffee making facilities are in each room, as are video/DVD players and access to Wi-Fi. Car parking is located both on and off site, free of charge, and ground floor rooms make life easier for guests using wheelchairs, or who don’t like being high up. A porter and twenty-four hour reception make sure that there are no problems in the hotel, and wake up calls can be requested. Jesmond Park also caters for business guests, with meeting areas available for use, and Wi-Fi access in public areas as well as the rooms.

The building itself is on the bus route for Newcastle city centre, which travels past The Metrocentre, Newcastle Arena, the Quayside attractions, Hadrian’s Wall – which begins in Newcastle – and gives a brief glimpse of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. Although the hotel is not open to large groups, it is a comfortable, relaxed establishment that offers everything you could need in a hotel, for a slightly lower price than central located accommodation.

The Copthorne is a luxurious, modern, four star hotel located in the cosmopolitan Quayside, just a stone’s throw from Newcastle city centre. Each of the 156 rooms – double or twin – are available to book for upwards of £255 and benefit from a non-smoking policy throughout the building. Twenty-four hour reception is on standby for all guests, and car parking is relatively cheap for such a desirable location, £5.00 per twelve hours.

The list of amenities at the Copthorne is endless, all part and parcel of its extravagant style. The hotel has its own swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, bar/restaurant, gymnasium, masseuse, beauty salon, laundry service and even a doctor on call. That’s not all, there’s a concierge service, a porter, currency exchange, private dining areas, twenty-four hour room service and a wake-up call if requested.

The rooms themselves are equally well equipped. Tea and coffee facilities are available as standard, as is a telephone, satellite television, hair dryer, trouser press and cots for the children to sleep in. On top of this, the larger-than-average rooms are tastefully decorated, with wheelchair access and the choice of being inter-connected. A lift services all floors and in-room broadband is an invaluable tool for guests staying on business. Further to the extensive facilities, the Copthorne also holds a wedding licence, meaning it opens its doors for newly-weds to enjoy the luxury of their establishment.

On the banks of the river, the Copthorne is in a most convenient location for travel and sight-seeing. It is close to the airports and easily accessible by motorway or rail, this four star establishment is also centrally placed for shopping and visiting local attractions – such as the cathedrals, museums and the many bridges that link the city centre across the Tyne.

There are many fantastic 4 star hotels in Newcastle but the thing about this city centre accommodation is that it’s not just a hotel room, it’s a home away from home in the form of an apartment with living room and fully fitted kitchen. The four star Premier Apartments complex in Newcastle has thirty-one apartments available to rent, with one or two bedrooms – the latter of which has a main bathroom and an en-suite for the master bedroom, costing upwards of about eighty-five pounds. The open plan living arrangement makes for a spacious apartment, and the modern design is fairly minimalist, but welcoming and homely at the same time.

Amenities include; WiFi access throughout the building, in-room modem hook up, hairdryer in each bedroom, TV, CD player, radio and iron with ironing board. Other helpful services are also available, such as; onsite car-parking (chargeable at £9.50 per twenty-four hours), limited hours room service, disabled facilities and access to public areas, laundry/valet service, lift to all floors, and reception that operates between 8am and 8pm on weekdays, 10am and 6pm on Saturdays, and 11am and 6pm on Sundays.

The Premier Apartments complex is locating just a short walk from the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, or an even shorter metro journey. The city is well supported by extensive rail and bus services, and it’s recommended that any visitors – business or leisure – take some time to explore the cultured quarter along the Quayside, which offers art and music as entertainment, not to mention the architecture of the many bridges along the Tyne. The Historic district of Newcastle is also a big draw, and only a short cab ride away from the Apartments, its Georgian houses and Cathedrals tell a story of the city’s history and are always worth a look.

The four star Grey Street hotel has the most enviable central location that makes it stand out from the crowd. The grade 2 listed building has stunning architecture and encapsulates period charm as well as style and sophistication. Inside the hotel, it is just as beautiful. The rooms are light, airy and extremely comfortable and all the windows are triple glazed which optimises peace and quiet.

The rooms are elegantly styled and the crisp white sheets provide a sense of cleanliness and relaxation. A standard double or twin room that sleeps two people normally starts from £65 and upwards depending on what day you will be staying. Certain days will be more expensive. The deluxe double room that sleeps two starts at around £85 and can go right up to £139 per night on certain nights. There is also a deluxe twin option that also sleeps two. Prices for this are similar to the deluxe double room. All the rooms come complete with thick towels, drench showers, toiletries, plasma or LCD TV, laptop safe, DVD player with library, CD player, cafetiere coffee and herbal teas.

It really is a plush hotel and the location of it makes it one of the best in the area. The Theatre Royal is only a two minute walk away as is the Eldon Square shopping centre, so regardless of whether you need some retail therapy or want to relax and unwind at the theatre, you will not be stuck for choice here. For commuters the railway station is only a five minute walk away so again the hotel is easily accessible. For those who really want a taste of the North, the Millennium Bridge and Newcastle Quayside is also only a five minute walk away too.

This is one of many 3 star hotels in newcastle, the Royal Station Hotel is a great base for you to stay if you want to be close to the city centre. Only 0.3km away, this hotel is perfectly located for an easy stroll into the delightful centre and is ideal for seeing what great things the North has to offer. What’s more, its close proximity to the railway station makes it a real hit with guests. The prices aren’t bad either. A standard single room that sleeps one comes in at around £57 – £112 depending on what day of the week you are staying. A standard double room that sleeps two is also reasonably priced but again can vary depending on what day of the week you want to stay. Prices start from £67 and make their way up to £122 per night. There is also the option for a standard twin room that sleeps two people. Prices for these rooms start from £72 and at the top end are around £127 per night.

The hotel itself is a delightful building that gives a real sense of grandeur and history. It combines elegant Victorian architecture with the highest quality modern facilities, so you could say you get the best of both worlds. The hotel was opened by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1858 and now boasts 144 spacious en-suite bedrooms. That isn’t all. The hotel also has the highest facilities for business use too. There are fourteen conference suites, with the largest being able to accommodate up to 200 delegates. From a more relaxing angle the hotel also offers an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and cold plunge pool which is available to all guests. There is also a fitness area and a bar.

This city centre hotel offers panoramic views across Newcastle, and its location is ideal for visitors stopping by for either business or leisure. With its welcoming interior and modern design, the Newgate meets a three star standard in all of its ninety-three rooms – which cost around £135 a night – and maintains a non-smoking policy throughout. Also available are meeting facilities, on-site bar/restaurant, and twenty-four hour reception service for all guests of the hotel.

Guests can chose from double or twin rooms, which sleep a maximum of two adults, but cots are available for children. Of course, the rooms have all the standard conveniences you would expect from a city centre hotel; such as a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and telephone – also on hand is an iron and ironing board, and, as an added bonus, a laundry/valet service, so you won’t have to worry about looking your best. Other amenities include; radio/alarm clock, in-room Modem Hook up, the choice of interconnecting rooms, a lift to all floors and a wake-up call from reception if necessary.

The Newgate Hotel is just minutes from the centre of Newcastle’s, with its Georgian quarter and modern Quayside sights. Easily accessible from the city’s two airports, or the main train station, most of the centre is quite compact and easy to explore on foot, but there are also extensive metro lines and bus services. Historic Newcastle has always been a draw for tourists, offering beautiful Georgian houses and Cathedrals to admire, as well as the reminders of Newcastle’s industrial past – such as the Path Head Water Mill. The Quayside is considered to be the cultural quarter of the city, with visitor’s centres and art gallery’s not to be missed – along with the famous Tyne Bridge, which stretches over the Quay – one of many which connect the city’s districts.
